Buttonwoods Museum Hosts Lecture on Walker Camp C

For International Archaeology Day 2013, the Buttonwoods Museum hosted an intimate lecture titled “Walker Camp C” with illustrated power point pictures on a recent excavation in Haverhill, MA on October 24. The format allowed questions by participants to be answered in an informal manner and for close viewing of the pictures. The lecture was given by the chief archaeologist working at the site, and covered the archaeological and historical compliance process, the results of background research and field survey, the process of data recovery field work and analysis, and their findings. The site discussed was Walker Camp C, excavated first by an amateur archaeologist in the early 20th century. The lecture was well received by those that attended.
