Annual Ridgway Lecture: Oplontis: New Discoveries at Villas A and B with Prof. John Clarke, UT Austin

October 30 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

University of Washington
Seattle, 98501 United States

AIA Society: Puget Sound

Learn about recent archaeological excavations at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Oplontis in the Bay of Naples. Through the
two Roman villas found there, we encounter both unbridled luxury and the lives of working individuals.

John Clarke is a Professor of Art History at the University of Texas at Austin. He has authored more
than ten books on ancient Roman architecture, mosaics, frescoes, erotic art, humor, and non-elites,
and has co-directed the Oplontis Project since 2005.
