Activities will include artifact identification—bring your artifacts and have an archaeologist identify them, archaeo-scavenger hunt, simulated mammoth dig excavation, animatronic dinosaurs, arts and crafts, and more. All activities are included with general museum admission. Experience a Day of Archaeology at the Museum of the Great Plains is not only celebrating International Archaeology Day (Oct. 20, 2018), but also part of the celebration of Oklahoma Archaeology Month, by bridging traditional archaeological approaches with Oklahoma’s many other caretakers of the past (OAM 2018).
