Join us for a free virtual talk on Sunday, October 23, at 11 AM Central. This Virtual Symposium is free and open to the public.

ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM:
Ancient Greece was a vibrant and colorful place. Join Dr. Martens for a look at archaeological evidence from Greece that shows the color used on ancient objects and structures.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Dr. Brian Martens is an archaeologist specializing in the art and visual cultures of the eastern Mediterranean basin. His research focuses on the history, economy, and trade of figural marble sculpture. He has over a decade of field experience in the Athenian Agora, where he supervises excavations in the industrial and residential neighborhood behind the Stoa Poikile. Dr. Martens received his Ph.D. from Oxford University.
