Estate gifts from these friends of archaeology are providing five scholars with an opportunity for vital archaeological research in the 2016 season. Find out more about what they’re discovering here!

The online calculator below will provide you with an illustration of the income and tax benefits to which you may be entitled if you make a planned gift—also known as an estate gift—to the Institute. Whether you want to learn about a charitable lead trust or a retained-life real estate gift, you can find a plan that fits your own goals and situation by visiting the calculator. You may explore a variety of gift options in the privacy of your own home by entering basic information, customizing your figures, and changing your options at any time. There is no obligation, and the information you enter is secure and private.

Learn how to make a Planned Gift to the AIA:

A gift in your will to benefit the AIA is a simple and gratifying way to express your desire to promote worldwide understanding and appreciation of past cultures.

Retirement Fund
Your retirement plan offers an opportunity to create a meaningful legacy that benefits archaeology.  It is easy to make a gift to the AIA from your IRA or other retirement account by designating the Archaeological Institute of America, Tax ID 13-5669180, as a beneficiary.

Lead Trust

If you would like to support the AIA and to minimize the estate and gift taxes on assets you wish to pass on to your family, the Charitable Lead Trust is an excellent way to meet both goals.

Real Estate

If you have owned your home, a vacation home, acreage, or a farm for many years, a charitable gift of that real estate may be especially tax-advantageous.

Remainder Trust

A Charitable Remainder Trust is an outstanding way to make a gift to the AIA much larger than you may have thought possible, and to enjoy increased income and excellent tax benefits at the same time.

A gift of life insurance is one of the most efficient ways to make a major gift to the AIA. The simplest way to donate insurance is to designate the AIA as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy.  You can also arrange to donate a whole life insurance policy to AIA. By donating your policy, you will yield a current income tax donation and reduce your overall taxable estate.

If you have already remembered the AIA in your will or estate plans, please notify the Development Office so that we may contact you about your Membership in the Charles Eliot Norton Legacy Society.
