Happy International Archaeology Day from Arkansas

The 5th Annual Archaeolympics was held at the Winthrop Rockefeller Station of the Arkansas Archeological Survey on Petit Jean Mountain and was organized jointly by archaeologists from the Arkansas Archeological Survey and the Anthropology Department at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. This year 6 teams consisting of students from University of Arkansas, Little Rock, University of Central Arkansas, Lyon College, and University of Arkansas, Fayetteville competed in an atlatl competition, archaeology obstacle course, and archaeological site trivia quiz. It was a gorgeous day and there were many spectators to cheer the teams on. The AnthroHogs from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, took home the trophy for a second year in a row!
