International Archaeology Day Pub Crawl in St. Augustine

Group shot at stop #1. Props were encouraged for all presentations.

The Northeast Region of the Florida Public Archaeology Network hosted an Archaeology Bar Crawl through downtown St. Augustine in honor of International Archaeology Day. Twelve participants visited 4 different bars and heard about excavations, historic research and the significance of numerous archaeological sites from local archaeologists. Sites included the 16th century town, the Plaza de la Constitution, St. Augustine’s oldest cemetery, and the city’s many forts including the Castillo de San Marcos.
