AIA Lecturer: Charles Stanish

Affiliation: Cotsen Institute, UCLA

Charles Stanish is Director of the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology, and a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at UCLA. He is also a past Chair and Curator of the Department of Anthropology, Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His area of specialization is South America, and he conducted field work in Guatemala, Peru, Chile, and Bolivia for 30 years, and has currently been working in the Lake Titicaca Basin of Peru and Bolivia for 20 years. His work is widely published, and he is a General Trustee of the AIA.
