AIA Lecturer: Martin Beckmann

Martin Beckmann received his Ph.D. in Classics from McMaster University. He specializes in Classical Archaeology and Iconography, The City of Rome, Roman Imperial History and Ancient Numismatics. He excavated in Vagnari, South Italy at a Roman Imperial Estate, in Bulgaria as a pottery specialist, in Corinth, Greece on a project to re-evaluate and publish material excavated in the 1960’s and at Tell Jawa in Jordan. He has published works on the columns of Trajan and Marcus Aurelius, early gold coinage of Trajan’s 6th consulship and pottery from a Roman fortification in Peiria.
