Newlin Grist Mill’s IAD Public Excavation

The public volunteers screen as volunteer archaeologist excavate a mysterious interior wall.

This year, our excavations were in the the foundations of bank barn of unknown date. We had four volunteer excavators and forty-three participants which included children and adults. Excavations were focused on uncovering and exposing an interior wall. We had good weather and recovered numerous 19th century artifacts.
