The Smithsonian Institution, Arthur M. Sackler Gallery signed up as a Collaborating Organization for National Archaeology Day today. The Arthur M. Sackler Gallery will celebrate National Archaeology Day with events including guided tours through Nomads and Networks. The Ancient Arts and Cultures of Kazakhstan.

Nomads and Networks is the first U.S. exhibition to present a comprehensive overview of the ancient nomadic culture of Kazakhstan, which roamed the Altai and Tianshan regions of eastern Kazakhstan from roughly the sixth through the first century BCE.  The exhibit opens at the Sackler Gallery August 11 and runs through November 12.
