For International Archaeology Day, Underground Railroad History Project of the NY Capital Region provided a dig and gathering with two speakers Albany, New York. Participants heard from Ron Greene who found a historic church ruin in the large front lawn of his home. With others, he worked to get the site listed on the National Register. Participants at the day program titled “Stories from the Dirt: Uncovering Up History” then participated in a dig at a nearby property where historic figure Thomas Elkins once lived. The artifacts will be added to the collection of the Underground Railroad History Project.
