Deep in the desert, 4000 years ago, the Ancient Egyptians led expeditions to mine amethyst to turn into jewelry for the pharaoh and his royal circle. Dr. Kate Liszka, Director of the Wadi el-Hudi Expedition, talks about how this difficult feat occurred based on recent archaeological work.
