ARCHAEOLOGY has been published continuously for 75 years by the Archaeological Institute of America, which is dedicated to supporting archaeological inquiry and to fostering the pursuit of knowledge about human heritage. The March/April 2023 issue of ARCHAEOLOGY features the myriad ways people of the past harnessed the power of water. Other stories include the rediscovery of a Peruvian painted temple, orienting an Egyptian tomb toward the rising sun, and unearthing 16,000-year-old American spearpoints.
The AJA, one of the world’s most respected journals devoted to Mediterranean archaeology, has set the standard for archaeological scholarship since 1885. The April 2023 issue contains articles examining Linear B tablets from Pylos, the Midas Monument in Turkey, alabaster figurines from Babylonia, a fragment of a colossal cult statue from Kleonai, and light in a Roman house.
