Scottish Isles and Norwegian Fjords

Dates: Thursday, May 17, 2018 to Friday, May 25, 2018 (9 days)

Bryggen (old wharf), Bergen, Norway

Cruise from Glasgow to Copenhagen when the weather is mild and days are long, aboard the luxurious, 110-cabin Le Boreal, and explore lands where ancient stone monuments and castles present an enigmatic, imposing face to the world. Visit extraordinary archaeological sites in Scotland’s Orkney and Shetland Islands; traverse the ancient shipping lanes of the Vikings across the North Sea to historic Bergen, Norway; and, en route to Copenhagen, cruise past picturesque settlements dotting the Norwegian coastline and its scenic archipelago. Among this program’s many highlights are visits to the renowned Neolithic sites of the standing stones of Stenness and the 5,000-year-old village of Skara Brae; the settlement at Jarlshof, revealing layers of human history from late Neolithic stone houses to Norse longhouses to a medieval farmstead; and a walking tour of Bergen’s Bryggen (old wharf), with its colorful, wooden houses. Pre- and post-cruise extensions in Scotland and Denmark are also available.

Aboard the 110-stateroom/suite Le Boréal
