Saturday, October 22, 2011 - 2:10pm

Location:
Theater 12, Cobb Plaza 12
155 South Orange Avenue
Orlando, FL
United States

The documentary is about the history and archaeological quest by the Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program (LAMP) to find the lost shipwreck, the Confederate privateer--Jefferson Davis

The brig Jefferson Davis originally was a trade vessel named Putnam.  It then became an illegal slaver and was called Echo.  During the Civil War it became the Confederate privateer named Jefferson Davis.  In August 1861, the rebel raider was lost off St. Augustine, FL.  Recently it has been the focus of an underwater archaeological and forensic investigation by scientists with LAMP, the Clemson Conservation Center, Univ. of West Florida, Middle Tennessee State Univ., and the NYS Museum.
