Meeting Theme: For the 2027 Annual meeting, the Program for the Annual Meeting Committee encourages the submission of organized sessions, papers, or posters that explore approaches to ‘Care and Mutual Aid’, both historically and within the discipline today. A paleolithic healed broken femur is often cited as axiomatic for the advent of civilization as survival requires cooperation, and historically many had limited means or freedom to thrive. How does archaeology offer evidence for care and mutual aid in the construction, maintenance, or extension of a community or culture? How do these concepts underlie our treatment of cultural heritage and archaeological legacy? How should they guide our relationships with colleagues within the discipline, with descendant groups, and with the community at large?
Please note: You must have a registered account on the AIA Website to access the forms. You can create an account at archaeological.org/register. If you already have an account but do not remember your password, you can retrieve it at archaeological.org/recover-password.
A numbered receipt will be sent via email confirming successful submission within 24 hours of abstract submission. If you do not receive the confirming email, please contact the AIA Annual Meeting department. Upon receipt of your submission it will be reviewed for completeness and forwarded to the Program Committee. If any information is missing or clarification is needed you will receive an email with an explanation of the issues. For questions about the format or style of your abstract, please defer to the AIA Style Guidelines for Authors.
Good luck with your submission!
