Have you submitted a Society Self-Assessment yet? Last year, it took me and our Society about five minutes to complete and it helped us reflect on a year’s worth of lectures, programs, initiatives, and admin work. AIA-Nashville Society elected not to request a follow-up with a member of the Societies Committee, as we had already set plans and goals for the coming year.

On behalf of the Societies Committee, I followed up with two Societies as requested on their self-assessments. It was a great opportunity to chat with fellow Society officers, build AIA networks, talk through common challenges, and brainstorm new ideas.

As you complete your assessments, consider submitting a short application for the annual Society Awards that celebrate your Society’s work in the first few months of 2025. Seriously, it’s only 2-3 questions for each contest!

Any spectacular Society this semester saves or long-time significant service? These awards aren’t given every year, but if you have a Society member worth recognizing, now is the time to write a nomination letter while their efforts are fresh in your brain.
