Ferrycarrig, Ireland: Elspbeth

January 23, 2019

I’m Elspbeth Hodgins, I’m from Adelaide, Australia and studying at Flinders University.

I’m very interested in Irish Medieval history and material culture, as well as, the role of women in Irish history. In addition to this, I love fieldwork and post excavation and wanted experience in European Archaeological practice. While I’m here I hope to gain an experience of Irish culture and history, as well as, new skills in the field and making new friends! I love post-excavation work so gaining experience in that has been invaluable. I loved looking around the park and site as well.

My best experience in Ireland so far was seeing Hook Head lighthouse, as well as Tintern Abbey.
