International Archaeology Day Blog
On October 20th, the University Of Colorado Museum Of Natural History teamed up with AIA Societies in Boulder and Denver, as well as the University of Colorado Departments of Classics and Anthropology to host an Archaeology Fair.
The AIA-Central Missouri Society collaborated with the Museum of Art and Archaeology and the department of Art History and Archaeology at the University of Missouri in Columbia to celebrate the second National Archaeology Day with a lecture by James R. Wiseman.
Parkin Archeological State Park celebrated National Archeology Day by offering a primitive pottery workshop.
For National Archaeology Day, The Presidio Archaeology Lab opened its newly completed lab and collections facility to the public.
The Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site presented a special archaeology for kids exhibit for National Archaeology Day with hands-on activities, free posters, site protection information and archaeology interpreters.
Volunteers are needed to monitor the translations of the International Archaeology Day webpage.
After two years of great success, National Archaeology Day will change to International Archaeology Day for 2013.
The Friends of the Office of State Archaeology in Connecticut acted as a participating partner in National Archaeology Day by sponsoring an Archaeology Fair.
