Independence National Historical Park Mounts Display for National Archaeology Day
October 17, 2012 | by Jed Levin
Independence National Historical Park mounted an archaeological artifact display (July-Nov) in the First Bank of the United States to coincide with National Archaeology Day. The display features two ceramic pitchers bearing War of 1812 battle scenes. The items are historical commemoration pieces and their display today is a commemoration for the War of 1812, which occurred 200 years ago.
Volunteers are needed to monitor the translations of the International Archaeology Day webpage.
After two years of great success, National Archaeology Day will change to International Archaeology Day for 2013.
The Friends of the Office of State Archaeology in Connecticut acted as a participating partner in National Archaeology Day by sponsoring an Archaeology Fair.
