Office of Archaeological Studies, Museum of New Mexico to Hold Open House on National Archaeology Day

The newest Collaborating Organization for National Archaeology Day, the Office of Archaeological Studies, Museum of New Mexico (OAS), will host an open house on National Archaeology Day. The open house will be coordinated in conjunction with the AIA Santa Fe Society at the new Center for New Mexico Archaeology in Santa Fe. On October 20th the public will have the opportunity to visit the offices and labs there as well as see displays of the OAS's education outreach offerings. OAS recently was awarded the 2012 Society for American Archaeology Excellence in Public Education Award.
Project Archaeology at the Beaverhead Museum hosted a teacher/student Archaeology Day for the region.
