The AIA Societies Breakfast held on January 7 gave representatives of our Local Societies the opportunity to discuss mutual goals and to share ideas for AIA participation on the local level.

Holyoke and Smith colleges, members of the Whately Historical Society, and local residents to explore an archaeological site at the MacLeish Field Station (West Whately, Massachusetts) and to learn about forest archaeology and historic sites.

On October 22, 2011 the Milwaukee Society hosted an open house, organized by Prof. Bettina Arnold, at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Archaeological Research Laboratory.
On National Archaeology Day, the Central Mississippi chapter participated in the Mississippi Archaeology Expo held on the campus of Millsaps College.
On the afternoon of October 22nd, undergraduates from local universities around Grand Rapids, Michigan shared their experiences as members of archaeological projects and explained results of independent research through powerpoint and poster presentations.
