Our Treasure...Shared - Day of the Dead Mass with Salinan Tribes and Praise Song for a Native American Hero

This event is meant to be a Native American celebration and eductional opportunity.  It begins with a Day of the Dead Mass with the Salinan Tribes - Salinan Tribe of Monterey and SLO County, the Xolon, and the Tr'owt'aah'l Tribal Members have been invited to participate.  Following the Mass is a procession to the Mission cemetery where a Native American ceremony takes place.  Beginning at 3:30pm will be a Praise Song for a Native American Hero -NU NA DA UL TSUN YI - a storytelling by the Arete fund - poetry and drum by Dianne de Lael, narration by Ryland Kelly, Tom Pew and Fr. Martin Mager. This is a story from the infamous "Trail of Tears" that involves a descendant of Dianne's.
