This half-day symposium, organized in conjunction with International Archaeology Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day, aims to explore how archaeology has engaged – and how it can better engage – with indigenous values and practices through community-based projects and classroom pedagogy. We will hear from professionals, community members, and students, both indigenous and non-indigenous, on how indigenous perspectives in archaeology and cultural heritage initiatives have enhanced their work in scholarship, pedagogy, and community development.
