John L. Caskey Lecture in Aegean Archaeology
John L. Caskey was professor of Classical Archaeology at the University of Cincinnati, director of the American School of Classical Studies in Athens from 1949 to 1959, AIA Gold Medal Recipient, and field director of several excavations in Greece and Turkey.
The Caskey Lectureship was established in 1998. The Caskey Lecturer, who is chosen by the AIA Lecture Program Committee, visits one local society annually.
The University of Cincinnati Department of Classics in cooperation with the Cincinnati Society of the AIA had a banner year with its Outreach program giving over 125 presentations that reached over 3800 people.
