Project Description

What: Excavate at the site of a Roman village whilst learning the latest archaeological techniques. Some of the remains of the village are visible below an amazing 500 year old house. Includes: fieldwork, lectures, building recording, surveying, planning lessons and field guided visits.

Where: At Alcublas, Spain. A beautiful village in Valencia region.

Minimum Length of Stay for Volunteers: Minimum stay 1 session (14 DAYS)

Experience Required: The course is open to everyone. You do not require academic training or previous experience to participate.

Room and Board Arrangements

We aim to use suitable accommodation that is as close to the project location as possible and to place everyone from the project in the same accommodation. Your accommodation will be either a hotel or apartment, dependent on the project you choose. 
Breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner are included. There are refreshments at the site of the project. Main meals are provided in local restaurants.

Academic Credit
Number of credits offered: All participants in a Trowelschool course obtain a certificate proving the course attendance, which details activities that have been carried out. If you wish to obtain credits, you should first check with your university. Trowelschool shall prepare any documents you need to certify working hours at the excavation as well as any course teaching hours.
