Interest Groups

Membership in an AIA Interest Group (IG) is a way for members to foster their interest in specific areas of archaeology. IG activities may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • encouraging IG members organize colloquia, workshops, or other types of sessions at the Annual Meeting
  • sponsoring colloquia, workshops, or other types of sessions at the Annual Meeting
  • disseminating information on lectures, meetings, new discoveries, new publications, etc. in the field of interest
  • providing information or recommendations to the AIA upon request (for example, suggesting possible lecturers in certain fields to the Lecture Program Committee)

Current IGs are listed below. For more information on how to create a new IG or to learn what is expected of an Interest Group, please click here. AIA members can join Interest Groups by simply emailing the chair of the group.

  • Cincinnati Society’s Outreach Year in Review

    The University of Cincinnati Department of Classics in cooperation with the Cincinnati Society of the AIA had a banner year with its Outreach program giving over 125 presentations that reached over 3800 people.
